Privacy policy

This policy describes the site as it is actually built today. It will be updated whenever a new service is switched on.

Who is responsible

Verse & Light is operated by its publisher, who is the data controller. The full legal and registration details, including a postal address, must be added here by the publisher before the site is launched publicly — we have deliberately not invented them. For anything privacy-related in the meantime, write to hello@verseandlight.example.

What we store in your browser

  • Saved verses. When you save a verse, it is written to your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it.
  • Your privacy choices. Your answer to the consent banner is stored locally so we do not ask again on every visit.

Neither of these is used to identify or track you, and both disappear if you clear your browser data.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, subject and message you provide, so that we can reply and keep a record of corrections. Messages are visible only to the site’s administrators, are never published, and are not used for marketing. Ask us and we will delete yours.

Analytics

No analytics service is currently active on this site. If Google Analytics 4 is switched on in future, it will load only after you have accepted analytics storage, and this page will be updated first.

Advertising

No advertising is currently shown and no advertising scripts are loaded. Advertising slots exist in the layout but stay switched off until the publisher has an approved advertising account, and they will only ever load after you accept advertising storage.

Your choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of every page. Rejecting optional storage does not limit any part of the site: reading, the verse generator and saving verses all work without it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Since the only personal data we hold is what you type into the contact form, requests are usually simple to fulfil.
