Biblical strength is rarely self-generated. In most of these passages, strength is either received, renewed, or made obvious precisely where a person is weakest.
Read the surrounding chapters and a pattern appears: strength is promised to people in the middle of a hard assignment, not to people avoiding one.

“He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
Context: The closing of a chapter about the incomparability of God. Renewal is promised to the exhausted, not the energetic.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Context: Read verses 11–12 first: the 'all things' Paul has in mind is contentment in plenty and in hunger, not unlimited achievement.
“Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.””
Context: A commission, repeated three times in one chapter, to a new leader facing a task he did not choose.
“For the Chief Musician. By the sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.”
Context: The psalm pictures the worst imaginable instability — mountains falling into the sea — and still calls God a present help.
“He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”
Context: Paul's answer to unanswered prayer. Strength is not the removal of the weakness but what is given inside it.
“My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Context: Written by Asaph after admitting his faith almost slipped. The honesty before the verse matters.
“Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.””
Context: Spoken to people weeping as they hear Scripture read for the first time in years; joy is named as their strength.
