Verses that are usually quoted for calm often turn out, in context, to be about reconciliation as well.

The passages
“You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.”
Context: Peace here is tied to a mind kept on God, in a song sung about a city that trusts rather than fortifies.
“Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.”
Context: Paul follows his instruction about anxiety with a discipline of attention — what you rehearse shapes what you feel.
“If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.”
Context: A realistic command: peace with everyone is the goal, but Paul concedes it is not always within your power.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
Context: Peacemaking is active in the Beatitudes; it is a role, not a temperament.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.”
Context: Peace is described as an umpire in the community's shared life, not only in the individual's feelings.
“In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me live in safety.”
Context: An evening verse about sleeping in safety, useful at the end of an anxious day.
