How the personalized generator works
The generator searches a curated library of 108 passages taken from the World English Bible. Each passage has been read by an editor and tagged with the feelings, life situations, spiritual needs and Bible topics it genuinely speaks to. Nothing is generated by a language model, and no verse text is stored in those tags — the wording is read from the Bible dataset each time a passage is shown, so it cannot drift from the published text.
When you choose a Bible book or testament, that choice is treated as a hard filter. Feelings, needs, topics, discovery style and time of day act as relevance signals: passages that match more of them score higher, and the generator picks at random among the strongest matches so you get variety rather than the same verse each visit. If nothing matches, you are told which filter to widen instead of being shown something that does not fit.
How to find a Bible verse for your mood
Start with how you actually feel rather than how you think you should feel. Scripture has language for anger, exhaustion and grief as well as gratitude and joy — the Psalms alone move through all of them. Choosing two or three feelings usually gives better results than choosing ten, because the generator looks for passages that match several of your choices at once.

Scripture for difficult life situations
The situation list covers 25 common circumstances, from exams and job uncertainty to grief, illness and heartbreak. Sensitive situations are handled carefully: the passages chosen for them are ones that sit with difficulty rather than explain it away.
Scripture can be a real comfort in hard seasons, and it is not a replacement for medical, mental-health, legal or financial help. If you are struggling, please also speak to a professional or to someone you trust.
Choosing a Bible topic
Topics are grouped into faith and spiritual growth, emotions and wellbeing, love and relationships, life challenges, and daily Christian living. If you already know what you want to read about, a topic is the most direct route. If you don’t, pick a spiritual need — peace, strength, hope, comfort, courage and others — and let the generator suggest the topic.

Why reading a verse in context matters
A verse is a line taken out of a letter, a song or a story. Read on its own it can seem to promise something the writer never said — the famous line about plans to prosper, for instance, was written to people told to settle into exile for seventy years. Every result here links to the full chapter for that reason, and where an editor has noted the setting, it appears under the verse.
