Context: Courage for a new responsibility, with presence as the reason given.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Context: Guidance promised to those who acknowledge God, not to those with a perfect plan.
“being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Context: A reminder that formation continues long after the ceremony.
“but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
Context: Strength renewed for a long road, from a chapter about the weariness of youths.
“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”
