Scripture's picture of guidance is less like a map and more like a companion: wisdom asked for, counsel taken, a step taken in good faith.
These passages help with big choices without pretending the answer will arrive in writing.

The passages
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Context: Acknowledging God in all your ways is a posture, not a technique for extracting answers.
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Context: Wisdom is exactly what you are told to ask for when you lack it.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.”
Context: Instruction and counsel promised, with an eye kept on the one being guided.
“A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.”
Context: Planning and direction held together — you still make the plan.
“and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.””
Context: A word heard behind you as you walk, which assumes movement.
“Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Context: Discernment described as the fruit of a renewed mind rather than a sign.
