The passages
“Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.”
Context: A request to hear of steadfast love in the morning, and to be shown the way to walk.
“LORD, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.”
Context: Prayer laid out in the morning like an offering, and then watched for.
“Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.”
Context: Asking to be satisfied early, so the whole day can be glad.
“Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.”
Context: Jesus rising long before daylight to pray in a solitary place, at the busiest point of his ministry.
“LORD, be gracious to us. We have waited for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.”
Context: A plea for God to be the arm of his people every morning.
