Bible Verses for a Good Day
Not every day needs rescuing. Some simply need noticing — and Scripture has plenty to say about gladness, work and thanks in ordinary time.

The passages
“Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!””
Context: Rejoicing repeated for emphasis, written from custody rather than comfort.
“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”
Context: Whatever you do — a verse aimed at slaves and workers, dignifying ordinary labour.
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands.”
Context: A request that the work of our hands would be established, at the end of a psalm about brevity.
“Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.”
Context: Committing work to God is presented as what steadies plans.
“Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.”
Context: Three short commands: rejoice, pray, give thanks — in everything, not for everything.
