The Bible rarely tells frightened people that there is nothing to be afraid of. It tells them who is with them while the thing they fear is still real.
Each passage below is quoted in full from the World English Bible and linked to its chapter, because the setting — a battlefield, an exile, a prison cell — is part of what the words mean.

“Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Context: Spoken to a people facing deportation. The reassurance is not that the danger is imagined, but that they are held through it.
“By David. The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Context: David answers his own fear with a question rather than a denial: if God is his light, whom should he dread?
“For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”
Context: Written to a young leader hesitating under pressure. Paul contrasts timidity with power, love and self-control.
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?”
Context: Notice the order — the fear comes first, then the trust. The psalm does not pretend the feeling away.
“Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for the LORD your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.””
Context: Moses' handover speech to a generation about to cross into unfamiliar territory without him.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.”
Context: John is writing about fear of judgement in particular, not every anxiety a person can feel.
