Bible Verses When You Feel Lost
Feeling lost can mean having no direction, or feeling far from God. Scripture speaks to both, mostly with images of light, shepherds and searching.
The guidance described is usually enough for the next step rather than the whole route.

The passages
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Context: Direction promised to those who acknowledge God in all their ways.
““Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’”
Context: The shepherd goes after the one — being lost is met with searching, not scolding.
“and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.””
Context: A voice behind you saying 'this is the way' — guidance as you walk, not before.
“A Psalm by David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Context: Restoration and right paths, in the best-known shepherd psalm.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
Context: Jesus answers Thomas, who has just said they do not know the way.
