“Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.”
Context: Commit your works — planning is not discouraged, only self-reliance.
“but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
Context: Renewed strength promised to those who wait, at the close of a chapter about God's inexhaustibility.
“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Context: Work framed as service, with a reward that is not the payslip.
“So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Context: Asking to number our days in order to gain a wise heart — a good weekly prayer.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Context: In context this is about contentment in plenty and in need, not unlimited achievement.
